Program Description:
The "Service in Aruba" faculty-led program offers students the opportunity to learn about Aruba’s culture, economy and natural environment while participating in projects that will benefit the local community. Students will spend Spring Break in Aruba, a gorgeous island in the Caribbean, where they will work in teams with local high school students and teach one another about each other’s culture and life. The students will also participate in service learning project that benefit the local community including helping high school students learn English, working with kids at a local shelter and cleaning up local beaches and parks. Of course, students will also have time to explore Aruba, known as One Happy Island, including Eagle Beach, the Butterfly Farm, Arikok National Park, the California Light House, Bubali Bird Sanctuary and Oranjestad and have leisure time.
