DeakinDeakin University

Deakin is one of Australia's largest universities, with more than 39,000 students.  Its campuses have a strong community feel and provide a supportive and friendly place to study.  Deakin's academic and support staff are knowledgable, enthusiatic and approachable.  Study abroad students can study from a wide range of courses including (but not limited to) Biology, Marine Science, Sport Studies, Arts, Business and Management, Communication and Media, Education, Environmental Studies, Health, Information Technology, International Studies, Law, Psychology, and Visual and Performing Arts.

CCU is a designated exchange partner of Deakin University, which means you may be eligible to attend Deakin as an exchange student and pay CCU's in-tuition rate.  Exchange programs are run on a reciprocal basis and CCU is allowed a specific number of exchange slots that varies by year. 

You can study for one semester (called trimesters at Deakin) or a full academic year (two trimesters), and receive credit towards your CCU degree. To qualify as an exchange student, you will need to be nominated by CCU.

Location Deakin has four campuses in Victoria, Australia.  The Melbourne Burwood Campus, the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus, the Geelong Waterfront Campus and the Warrnambook Campus.

Eligibility Minimum 2.8 GPA required for admission Students must first apply online through this site to be nominated for an exchange or non-exchange study abroad.  Students approved by the Center for Global Engagement to participate in this program, will then apply online through the exchange university application to complete the final acceptance process.

Tuition Exchange Students Pay $5,768.00 (In-State Rate Fall 2018/Spring 2019), Exchange slots NOT guaranteed.
Accommodations On-campus accommodations are available but are not guaranteed.  Students are strongly urged to apply early to the program in order to apply for on-campus housing.  Where students are granted on-campus housing, each resident is housed in single room accommodations and has phone and computer access.  Bedrooms are furnished, heated and carpeted.  There are shared bathrooms, kitchens, laundry and recreational areas.  The residences have a common room with meeting rooms, kitchen, television area and a large open space for social events.  The cost of on-campus accommodation varies on each campus depending on the type of accommodation and services provided.  For more information about accommodation costs, please contact OIPS
